Manufacturer Description

Custom, Handmade 14Kt Cat Pendant featuring a Large 7.70 Ct. Pear Shaped Tanzanite and Diamonds by Donna Pizarro from her Fine Cat Jewelry Collection. The above necklace I call "Essence of Cat" . It is an exquisite 14Kt yellow gold Abstract Cat which features a large tanzanite as the center body of the cat which is held by 4 prongs. The top prong is a cat paw, 2 bottom prongs are the cat's feet and the third bottom prong is the cat's tail. The cat's eyes each feature a 1.25 mm SI1 G color diamond - each diamond is approx .01 ct. The bail features 2 bezel set diamonds, 1 x 2.0mm and the other is 2.68 mm. Both diamonds are also SI1 with G color. Total diamond weight is .11 ct. The tanzanite is a beautiful 7.70 ct pear shaped stone, VVS clarity, medium bluish-violet hue with red pleochroism. It is a beautiful stone with deep saturation. The tanzanite measures 13mm in length and 10 mm in width at the widest part of the stone. It is also approx 10mm deep at the deepest center point of the stone. This piece is for a person who loves cats as well as the tanzanite stone. The total weight of the piece is 8.5 grams. This pendant ships with an 18" 14kt yellow gold rope chain. Tanzanite is a zoisite stone, most are heat treated to become the violet color, and is soft by nature - in the mohl's scale about 6.5. In jewelry, it is best suited for earrings or pendant due to its one direction of cleavage and its sensitivity to thermal shock. It's prize color is a violet blue. It became popular in 1968 by Tiffany's but because of the limited supply, it was not mass produced. It's main feature is the pleochroism - reflection of dual colors of light and it's beautiful violet-blue color. When you move the stone in light you can see a bluish to violet to red flash of color.
